Your Prayers are Precious to God

Reading in Revelations this morning, I was humbled to the point of tears. The kids will be up soon and I don’t want you to miss this so I’ll make it quick.

Ready?

Your prayers aren’t just hitting the ceiling. (I know sometimes it really does feel this way, doesn’t it?)

No, my sweet friend. They are being purposefully collected and placed in a bowl of precious gold and placed before The Lord.

“…they were holding golden bowls of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.” Revelation 5:8

Now to some this may seem über religious. To some this may sound just plain weird.

 But to me, it makes my heart swell. It reminds me I am not forgotten. It makes me realize just how important my prayers are to the King of kings and God of my salvation. That He is never too busy to hear my prayers. This isn’t like a collection of mail at the post office waiting to be sorted. Ohhhh no. This is a sacred collection that is so beautiful and held close to God’s heart.

I’m not sure what brings you to your knees today, whether it be the illness of a loved one, overwhelmed by life, depression, divorce, death of a child, pain in your body, job security, financial struggle, or simply feeling like a piece of paper being blown around in the wind.

But this I KNOW – you are so precious to God. He loves you SO much; more than you will ever know. He paid the ultimate price by sending His one and only Son to take our place on the cross.

Trust Him. You may not understand the storm you are facing, but know that the One who calms the storm sometimes finds it necessary to simply calm His child. There’s so much peace to be found in the arms of Jesus!

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Wherever life finds you today, I pray you are overwhelmed with God’s unconditional, unchanging head over heels crazy love for you.

He treasures the prayers of His children just like we as parents treasure the words and artwork of our children. Except His fridge doesn’t get full, He pulls out the bowls of pure gold and holds on to them to answer in His timing.

You are SO loved.  ❤

Prayers for my Husband, My Pastor <3

Ministry is definitely no cake walk, that’s for sure.  It’s filled with mountaintop moments surrounded on all sides by treacherous valleys waiting to swallow us up.  When we say yes to God, the enemy puts an instant target on our back.

Pray for your pastor daily, especially if he’s your husband.  The devil wants to put your man in a chokehold and try to make him wave that white flag of surrender.  He’s ready to destroy your marriage, your children and everything you’ve poured blood, sweat and tears into building for the kingdom of God.

I pray this video encourages you if you are in ministry.  Don’t give up – God has called you to do great and mighty things!

To close out this week, I’ve asked a dear friend of mine to share some of her heartfelt prayers for her husband.  They have served in ministry for 30+ years in various ways from pastoring to directing world missions for the Church of God traveling all around the world.  Who better to ask than one who has walked all around this world in ministry with her man!

“More than anything, I pray for his strength and wisdom.  But I always pray God would remove people from his life who don’t need to be there and place people around him who will lift him up and encourage him.  I also pray against depression because men in leadership of any kind battle this.  They worry about being able to ‘produce’ and feel insecure even though people don’t see that side of them.  That’s a biggie.  Those are the main thing I pray over him.” – Paula Hill

I pray you’ve been encouraged this week as we have prayed over our husbands!  They need our prayers, ladies!  Next week we will be talking about “Confessions from a Worn Out Mama.”  We will have a special guest post for Tasty Tuesday and Friendly Friday!  We have a great week in store!

Share with someone if this blessed you!

Prayers For My Husband

IMG_1887.JPG

It’s hard enough being a mom. Taxi driver, short order cook, personal shopper, accountant, lunch packer, nose wiper, bath giver….

But being the spiritual leader of the home, as Ephesians 5:22-24 says, holds quite the responsibility as well.

I love my man. God knows he’s some kind of special to handle a crazy southern woman like me without needing prescription medication. I love you, baby!

Gary is an RN and works a minimum of 12-hour days full-time in a high stress environment that can quickly escalate to life and death situations. He’s the father of our two amazing and incredible curly-headed booger heads. He is a pastor and serves our church faithfully desiring to point others to a life changing relationship with Jesus Christ. He’s such a hard worker and has always put his family first. And that’s just the short version.

God has really impressed on my heart a different kind of praying style for my husband and I couldn’t wait to share it with you!

I’m lathering my hair with shampoo the other morning and God whispers these sweet instructions to me: “Pray for Gary – completely cover him.”

I’d like to share with you part of my heart felt prayer today and encourage you to insert your man’s name and cover him completely in prayer. From the top of his head to the toes on his hairy feet. {And rub them for him. It’s not just us women who like our feet massaged. Trust me on this one.}

Father God,

Please give ________ the MIND of Christ. Guard his thoughts. When the enemy tries to discourage him, let him recall your precious thoughts towards him. Help him to always remember he is more than a conquerer in Christ Jesus! {1 Corinthians 2:16 / Romans 8:37}

I pray for ________’s EYES and EARS that they see and hear people’s needs the way that You do and help him to meet those needs whenever he can. Help him to be careful of the things he allows to come in front of his eyes and what he listens to. I pray he carefully watches over the affairs of our household. Help him to hear Your voice and see Your plan clearly for our family. {Matthew 25:/ 1 Peter 5:8 / Jeremiah 29:13}

God touch ______’s MOUTH – all that goes in and all that comes out. Let him make wise choices with healthy foods and speak wisely with his words. Help him to be slow to anger, quick to listen and quick to forgive. Help him to always be mindful of the power and authority of his words. {James 1:19 / Proverbs 18:21}

Give _________ the strength to carry on his SHOULDERS the burdens you have designed him to carry. No more and no less. I pray he is able to cast all of his cares on You and trust that Your grace is sufficient for all of our needs. {Matthew 11:30 / 1 Peter 5:7}

Bless _______’s ARMS and all who they embrace. Let unconditional love consume those he wraps his arms around. I pray he feels Your loving kindness and rests in Your arms. {1 Corinthians 13:4-8 / John 15:9-17}

Bless everything _______ puts his HANDS on. I pray he succeeds in the work you have called him to. I pray your gentleness is expressed through his hands in the lives of others. Help him to surrender his life into Your hands to mold him into the man of God You’ve created him to be. {Job 1:10 / Galatians 5:22-23}

That is about half of my prayer for my husband. We will finish the other half on Wednesday so keep checking back this week!

I want to leave you tonight with this – Your man desperately needs your prayers.

God has called us into this one of a kind covenant with our husband and we need to be in constant prayer for our men to be all God has called them to be. It’s no easy task being the man of the house and leading our families.

Let’s commit to covering our men in prayer daily!

Do you have a special way of praying for your husband? Please share with us below!

Don’t forget tomorrow is our first Tasty Tuesday post!
