“Where ya joy at?”

I kept trying to rename this post.  But I can’t get past these words. My heart is so burdened for us as the church this morning.

Where.  Is.  Our.  Joy??

When the world looks at us, do they see anything that makes them want what we have?  Heck, do we look like we want what we have?

The enemy knows what it takes to bring us to our knees (and I’m not talking about in prayer).  He’s had a bird’s eye view into our lives and into the lives of humanity for y.e.a.r.s.  He knows what it takes to knock you down.  And he wants to use that to keep us down and out.

He wants your joy.  He wants you to keep silent.  He wants to make you feel like you’re drowning in your struggle and that there’s no way out.  He wants you to be in a funk.  And he makes sure others take notice when you’re at your worst.

You need to watch this brief video.  God put it so heavy on my heart this morning and I pray it stirs you up.

Don’t let the enemy steal your joy.  The world needs to see this unfathomable, uncontainable joy that we have in Christ Jesus.

Now go out and spread some joy, guys!  ❤

Absent Minded Foggy Mommy Brain

I know that title totally makes you want to read more. Haha

So here I am aimlessly scrolling through my phone and happen to check my blog and realize – WOAH. I have been updating my Facebook but left you guys hanging here. For quite a while.  I’m so sorry!

First off – if you want to stay connected, Facebook is definitely the best way to keep up with me. When inspiration hits, I frequently grab my phone and head to my Life Unscripted Facebook Page. { Click here to like my page and let’s stay connected! }

{ below: our church’s 1st Annual Easter Egg Drop }

Secondly – We have been busier than ever! I’ve begun to realize that posting daily isn’t realistic during this stage of my life. I have a lot to say and God speaks such precious whispers, but time simply doesn’t always present itself to log in and post every day.  { Honestly, just remembering to bathe the kids and brush teeth is a high five worthy moment right now. }

That being said, I pray you stick with me and keep up with me on Facebook for encouragement and videos. I will post as much as I can, but being a full time pastor’s wife, mom, homemaker, and wearer of many colorful hats – posting may not be totally scheduled and regular. { The realization that I haven’t posted in over a month stings..

Thirdly – We were in a crazy car crash a few weeks ago that was inches from leaving our 6-year-old an orphan.  At this time I can’t discuss any details other than we’re alive solely by the grace of God.

Our new Newsong CD “Faithful” was the last thing removed from our van and I think it’s pretty epic and an awesome reminder that we serve a faithful God, even when things around us seem to be total chaos.   { A brief video post can be found on my Facebook page entitled, But God.. }

And last, but definitely not least – Some exciting news I couldn’t wait to share!! We’re expecting baby # 3!  Baby Jones will make his or her grand appearance sometime mid-October!

So needless to say, it’s been crazy busy! But I’m hoping to continue videos and posts as much as I can.

{just got back from spending Easter break wth family in VA}

{In the above pic my BFF and I were laughing so hard I thought I had pee’d myself but realized my mom’s car had heated seats!!  Her self timer on her phone just so happened to catch us cracking up. You’re welcome.  Lol}

Love you guys SO much and love hearing from you!  Would love to know what God is up to in your life right now!

Keep up with me on Facebook and Instagram.  @lifeunscripted5

In His Hands { Psalm 29-32 }

God is SO on time, isn’t He?

You’re struggling with doubt, and BOOM!  Your daily reading brings you to something that has to do with trusting in The Lord and leaning not to your own understanding.

Dealing with sickness and the Kari Jobe song “Healer” comes on Pandora.  #mindblown

He knows us.  He searches our hearts.  He knows the precise number of hairs on our head (or lack there of) and how many times we have inhaled and filled our lungs with oxygen today.

God is no stranger to our struggles.  He sent His only Son, Jesus, to come put on flesh and blood and live like we live.  Eat what we eat.  He is familiar with our humanity.

Today we’re jumping head first into Psalm 29-32!  Shall we?

Psalm 29 speaks a lot of God’s majestic power.  At the sound of His voice, desserts quake and forests writhe and split apart like mere toothpicks.  We.  Serve.  A.  Mighty.  GOD.  Give Him glory!

I love the words of encouragement in Psalm 30.  “Sorrow may last for a night, but JOY comes in the morning.”  Honey, that hellacious storm that’s staring you down has no match for the joy that’s coming!   Anchor yourself to the Rock until the winds and rains cease.   And remember, we weren’t made to conquer every storm.  But we were made to outlast.  { Those wise words came from my husband during his sermon the other night.  I can’t take credit for that one. ❤ }

I couldn’t wait to share this video with you on Psalms 31!  God burned verses 8 and 15 into my heart today.  Over and over today, I’ve been reminded that we have not been handed over to the enemy.  We are safe and secure in the palm of His hand.

Don’t let the enemy have the upper hand thinking he’s got you where he wants you.  We serve a MIGHTY God who is able to do exceedingly and abundantly more than we could ever ask or think! {Ephesians 3:20}

Psalms 32 reminds us that we can’t hide our junk from God.  It’s time to make it right.  TODAY.  What if tomorrow doesn’t come and you’re left holding a lifetime full of dirty laundry that hasn’t been through the wash cycle?  Sins that haven’t been accounted for yet? Im sorry‘s that never made it past our lips?

He is forgiving if you want to be forgiven.

Freedom comes with forgiveness.

Are you walking in freedom or chained in bondage?

I pray you’ve been encouraged and empowered as you’ve been digging those roots firmly in the Word of God!  Psalms is so encouraging and raw and so real.

It’s not too late to join us!  Grab a study buddy, a cup of hot chocolate and the Word.  Let’s continue to dive in together, shall we?  Chime in below or head to my Facebook page here!
