I failed, but nobody died.

I failed today. Got up, read my devotion, saw an awesome scripture posted from Klove on Facebook about being quick to listen and slow to anger. And. I. Bombed. It.

Life got loud, tempers flared and beady eyes glared. We didn’t get out of the house today until 1pm (precisely naptime). We were already set up for failure.

Then I saw this little nugget of wisdom written freshly on the board behind the receptionist in the doctors office. “How you react to a situation literally has the power to change the situation itself.” Kind of sounds to me like words of Proverbs 18:21.

There is power in our words, beautiful. Use them wisely or we’ll rip someone a new one and inflict irreversible damage to the heart.

Let’s be gentle with our reactions, sweet ones. God gave us words to uplift and encourage, not tear down and destroy.

Unfortunately, I failed. But nobody died. {Even though I totally have a better grasp on why some animals eat their young.}

Today was rough and apologies were a must, but praying tomorrow is a better day! Let’s react in a positive way and change the atmosphere!

Live Life Unscripted,
❤ Brittany
